Driving to Ischgl

When driving to Ischgl we strongly recommend you pay attentions to information relevant to Austrian motorways and carry necessary safety equipment you may require. Appropriate seasonal tyres and adequate winter equipment suitable for your particular vehicle is required by law in Austria, particularly in winter.

Arriving from Germany:

Travelling on the “Arlberg expressway” S16 take exit Pians continuing on the “Silvretta national highway” B 188 for approx 20 km, direction Ischgl. There are three possible routes that will take you to the S 16 in Tyrol:

# Note in Summer you have the option of taking the Silvretta high alpine road to Ischgl when exiting the motorway at Bludenz. This road is closed in Winter.

Arriving from Italy:

Travelling on the “Arlberg expressway” S16 take exit Pians continuing on the “Silvretta national highway” B 188 for approx 20 km, direction Ischgl. There are two possible routes that will take you to the S 16 in Tyrol:

Arriving from Switzerland:

Travel to Austria from the A3, direction “Feldkirch” or the A1, direction “Lustenau” and “Dornbirn” joining the A14 in Austria, direction “Innsbruck”. Continue through the “Arlberg Tunnel” joining the S16 direction Pians. Exit in Pians and continuing on the “Silvretta national highway” B 188 for approx 20 km, direction Ischgl.

Travellers Information: “By Law” you require a Toll sticker on Austrian motorways and expressways. These are available from services stations and tobacco kiosks with validity periods of 10 days, 2 months or a whole year.
